Code of Conduct

Our standards for respectful, safe, inclusive and professional participation in Academy life.

Effective date: 2 October 2026
Rhythmic Yoga Academy is committed to a learning environment in which students, teachers, staff, guests, clients and partners can participate with dignity, respect and a shared sense of responsibility.

1. Purpose

This Code sets expectations for behaviour across Academy premises, classes, courses, workshops, retreats, corporate sessions, online learning, student accounts, communications and Academy-related events.

2. Respect and Dignity

  • Treat students, teachers, staff, visitors and partners with courtesy and dignity.
  • Respect differences in background, language, culture, age, ability, experience, gender and personal circumstances.
  • Listen to others and allow reasonable opportunity for everyone to participate.
  • Use professional and respectful language in person and online.

3. Inclusion and Non-Discrimination

Harassment, intimidation, bullying or discriminatory conduct has no place in the Academy. Concerns may be raised with Academy management. We will consider reports fairly and take appropriate action based on the circumstances and applicable requirements.

4. Safety in Yoga, Movement and Meditation

  • Follow reasonable instructions from instructors and staff.
  • Practise within your own ability and do not pressure another participant to perform a movement.
  • Tell the instructor about relevant limitations or concerns that may affect participation.
  • Stop or modify an activity if you experience pain, dizziness, distress or another concerning symptom and seek appropriate assistance.
  • Do not present yourself as medically qualified or provide medical advice to another participant unless you are appropriately authorised and qualified to do so.

5. Professional Boundaries

Teachers and students should maintain appropriate professional boundaries. Instructors must not misuse their position of trust, pressure participants into unwanted personal interactions, or exploit a student's dependence on instruction. Students should also respect instructors' professional boundaries and Academy policies.

6. Harassment, Abuse and Sexual Misconduct

Unwelcome sexual conduct, sexual harassment, threats, coercion, stalking, physical intimidation, abuse or exploitation are prohibited. Where a serious concern is reported, the Academy may take immediate steps to protect participants and may refer matters to appropriate authorities where required or appropriate.

7. Bullying and Online Behaviour

Bullying, repeated humiliation, threats, targeted harassment, impersonation, malicious rumours or abusive online communication involving Academy participants are prohibited, whether occurring on Academy systems or in circumstances directly connected to Academy activities.

8. Privacy and Confidentiality

Do not photograph, record, publish or share another participant's personal information, private communications, student records or identifiable images without appropriate permission. Confidential student, faculty or client information must not be disclosed except as authorised or required by law.

9. Academic Integrity

  • Submit your own work unless collaboration is expressly permitted.
  • Do not plagiarise, falsify attendance, impersonate another student or manipulate assessments.
  • Do not purchase, sell or misrepresent another person's coursework or certificate.
  • Give appropriate credit when using sources or ideas belonging to others.

10. Attendance and Participation

Students are expected to attend scheduled sessions, arrive prepared, participate respectfully and communicate absences through the applicable Academy process. Attendance requirements for certification programmes may be stricter and are governed by the relevant programme requirements.

11. Alcohol, Drugs and Intoxication

Participants must not attend Academy activities while impaired by alcohol or recreational drugs, or possess prohibited substances on Academy premises or at Academy activities. Medication prescribed or lawfully used by a participant should be managed responsibly and should not compromise the safety of others.

12. Property and Facilities

Use Academy facilities, equipment and learning materials responsibly. Damage caused intentionally or through serious misuse may result in disciplinary or financial consequences subject to applicable law and the relevant agreement.

13. Conflicts of Interest and Professional Conduct

Faculty, staff and participants should disclose significant conflicts that could compromise fair assessment, supervision or business decisions. Academy representatives are expected to act honestly and professionally in their dealings with students, clients and partners.

14. Complaints and Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness conduct that may breach this Code, you are encouraged to report it promptly to Academy management. Provide factual details where possible, including the date, location, people involved and any supporting information. Reports will be handled as sensitively as reasonably possible.

15. Review and Action

Depending on the seriousness and circumstances of a concern, the Academy may seek clarification, facilitate a resolution, issue a warning, apply participation restrictions, suspend or terminate enrolment, or take other reasonable action. Serious matters may be referred to external authorities where appropriate.

16. No Retaliation

Good-faith reporting of a genuine concern should not result in retaliation. Deliberately making a knowingly false or malicious allegation may itself be treated as a conduct concern.

17. Updates

This Code may be updated as Academy practices, programmes and legal requirements develop. The current version will be published on this page.

Important: This Code supports Academy standards but does not replace applicable law, safeguarding requirements, employment obligations, student agreements or emergency procedures.
